Friendly Class is facilitated by David Dernberger II
Ages: All Adults
Study Material: The Giant Print NIV Reference Bible. This Bible is in 14-point typeface and is very easy on the eyes.
Each week we share a journey through the Bible with open discussion.
We are currently reading through 2nd Kings. This week we will read 2nd Kings Chapter 13 and 14.
Remember to bring in your non-perishable food item for the teen class's year long food drive.
Thanks to everyone that helped make this year's Operation Christmas Child a big success. We were able to send off 35 shoe boxes this year. This also means we used all of our crayons we had stored up over the past few years. We have been participating in this program for 3 years now and have donated 80 shoeboxes total. Because of the church's generosity we have also donated items to Hebron Elementary and the Baby Pantry.
I am always looking for new ideas for class. I would also like to come up with 3 good ideas to celebrate our 75th anniversary as a class. This happens in 2011.
If you have any please feel free to talk to me after church.
Friendly Class History...49 years ago!
The Friendly Class sponsored a Father and Son Banquet, June 14, 1951. Paul Weekly was the song leader and toastmaster. Paul Cass played piano. Henry Cass sang a solo. Clarence Henry offered "A Father's Remarks" and Chumsy Bauman gave a "Response by a Son." One of the songs was "Welcome Daddy Dear" (tune--Jingle Bells).
Welcome here, daddy dear,
Welcome to this place;
See the happy smiles of love
That beam from every face.
.
Welcome here daddy dear,
Welcome on this day;
As we sing to you again
Best wishes on life's way.
